What it checks
- Canonical spelling of known technologies (JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Node.js…)
- First-person pronouns inside bullets
- Consistent bullet-ending punctuation — URLs are exempt
Why it matters
A misspelled technology costs twice: the ATS exact-match search never finds it, and a technical reviewer reads it as not knowing the tool you claim to use. Typos rank among the top three rejection reasons in recruiter surveys.
How to fix it
Fix technology names to their official spelling: JavaScript, Python, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Node.js, GitHub. Drop "I/my" from bullets and start with a verb. End every bullet with the same punctuation.
Frequently asked questions
Are lowercase URLs flagged?
No. URLs are excluded from the spelling check, because github.com/username must be lowercase.
