CON-02 — Dead links

Short answer

CON-02 verifies that GitHub, LinkedIn and portfolio addresses are genuinely clickable in the PDF annotation layer. If a URL appears as text with no matching link annotation, the link is dead — nobody retypes a 40-character address, so your portfolio is never opened.

What it checks

  • PDF link annotations matched against URLs in the text

Why it matters

A hiring manager clicks, never types. An unclickable portfolio link is an unseen portfolio — and for junior applications the portfolio is often the only differentiator.

How to fix it

Export with hyperlinks preserved (Word: "Save as PDF", not "Print to PDF"), then open the PDF and click each link to test. Keep URLs short: github.com/username.
